May Currently

I'm linked up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for May Currently! LOVE her blog!!!

Listening - Rick Steves. We're nerds, no lie. And we love to travel. Apple TV + Hulu+ makes it so easy to just watch Rick Steves a lot.

Loving - 13 days left of school! I love my sweets this year, but we've sort of hit that point where we need a break. Mostly, I think they need a break from each other!

Thinking - UGH. A few days ago, I woke up with a sore throat, which progressed into a cough, and is now a full on *head cold* {I think}. You know, one of those where coughing wakes you up, and all you want to do is sleep.

Wanting - Yesterday, my principal asked me if I would have a student teacher in the fall!! I was so flattered, and while I'm a total OCD control freak about my classroom, we all have to start somewhere, right? Anyway, I have about a million questions! This is my first student teacher, so any advice, tips, insights, etc... is very welcome!

Needing - Umm, seriously there are clothes to be ironed hanging from our dining room chandelier. It's bad, y'all. In my defense, I do the ironing downstairs so that I can watch TV while I do mine and the Mr.'s clothes. Sometimes, I might not get it all done, so I hang it where I can. This really is True Life.

Surprise - My sweet friend Chandra at Teaching with Crayons and Curls is beyond adorable! Not only do I love her TpT products and her blog, but she works right across the hall from me! She's currently on maternity leave (Cora is too cute for words), and I miss my friend across the hall! I'm looking forward to meeting Cora, and catching up with Chandra soon! Check out her blog, and TpT store! You won't be disappointed!

  1. So glad I'm not the only one who needs to clean! Ugh! I don't want to, though! Good luck with the cough.

  2. This is my first time stopping by your blog thanks to Currently for bringing my by! First of all, I absolutely love the scrolly instagram bar at the top! How did you do that?

Only 13 days left! Lucky lady! We are in the upper 30's. It's a miracle we aren't going into July with all those snow days we had!

I am right there with you about the cold. I am just getting over mine too. The change in seasons has been killer! The sore throat hit me out of nowhere and was brutal! I lost my voice and everything!

Congrats on the student teacher! I just did my student teaching in the fall and it was a fabulous experience! If you have any specific questions, I would be more than happy to answer from a student teacher's perspective! It will be a fabulous experience for both of you! I can't wait to follow your journey!

  3. We have 32 days left. You are so lucky.
I have had several student teachers. Some have been more ready to be in the classroom than others. I would ask your intern what he or she most needs to learn. Often it's classroom management strategies.

  4. I had my first student teacher this year. We both had an incredible experience. I was afraid not being able to let go of my control issues, but once I saw her with my kids, I knew I could just let her be.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. I'd love to help out.
I made her super cute binder, which she used the entire time she was with us.
    Best of luck!

  5. You like to travel, huh? You should seriously look into teaching overseas! I am currently teaching English to blind kiddos in Daejeon, South Korea, and I am absolutely loving the whole adventure. It's been wonderful....an experience I will always treasure.

  6. I love the name of your blog! I was a little apprehensive about having a student teacher too, but I think we totally learned from each other that year! Hope you feel better soon!

  7. I've had a few student teachers. Most are great and so ready and willing to do anything to please you and help the kiddos. And, they just can't wait to become teachers.
