12 Goldilocks Books Plus Free Printables

As part of our folktale unit in 2nd grade, we spend about two weeks reading different versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

There are LOTS of different Goldilocks books out there, and a ton of activities you can do with those books.

I'm sharing a few of my favorite Goldilocks books, and a few activities you can use with them!

The Activities

Part of our second grade standards require students to compare and contrast different versions of the same story, and these books lend themselves so well to just that.

Students also need to be able to describe the beginning, middle, and end of a story (which is something that is easier said than done). Using familiar texts with a predictable pattern of events, helps students practice writing about beginning, middle, and end.

I have a Goldilocks Mini-Unit with printables that you can use with ANY Goldilocks book, as well as printables specifically for the books denoted above.
The Printables (aka YOUR FREEBIE)

I was live on Facebook (you can watch the replay here) talking about what activities I'm using with The Three Snow Bears.

In addition to the printables below, I explain how to make a story elements graphic organizer by folding a piece of paper a few times. It requires zero printing and zero copying! #teacherwin

Your freebie includes:
  • Beginning, Middle, End printable
  • Compare/Contrast printable
  • Comprehension/Listening Check printable
  • Interactive Read Aloud Questions (to print on 2 x 2 sticky notes)
